The patriotic screams of support and jubilation filled the air at the Sandals Resorts Montego Bay regional finals for the talent search competition dubbed Encore which was held last Wednesday, August 2nd. Eight Models, singers, dancers and other showmen from Sandals Montego Bay, Sandals Inn and Sandals Royal Caribbean qualified to compete after contending at their respective resorts.
The highly competitive and entertaining show had the resorts’ valued guests and members of staff at the edge of their seats at Sandals Royal’s Almond Terrace where participants showcased their well-tailored performances. However, after much deliberation by invited judges, Neacus Smith and Trishanna Coleman walked away with the title for best male and female model respectively; as well as Warren Brown and Luckie-Ann Dyer for best male and female vocalist. Each winner will therefore matriculate to the island-wide regional finals where they will compete against their colleagues from the Sandals, Beaches and Grand Pineapple resorts in Ocho Rios and Negril for cash and other incentive prizes later this month.
This annual talent show allows for team members to develop and showcase their creativity and talents outside of their usual work. Through this forum, winners are also given much exposure and opportunities to explore their capacities even further.
