International Women’s Day is celebrated on March 8th each year to recognise extraordinary women with social and political achievements. The international theme- “Be Bold for Change “- a call to action for empowered women around the world to make a positive and meaningful transformation within their region. The Sandals Resorts in the Montego Bay Region could therefore look no further than Deputy Superintendent (DSP.) of the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF), Pheonia Watson who was recognised for 27 years of invaluable contributions to the fight against crime and the great strides she has accomplished as she moves higher in rank as a female officer.

The female managers of the Sandals Resorts in the Montego Bay region (Sandals Montego Bay, Sandals Royal Caribbean and Sandals Inn) paid a surprise visit to DSP. Watson’s office to adorn her with a specially made gift basket along with gift bags from the resorts’ Red Lane® Spa.

The visit, completely unbeknown to her, left the honoree dumbfounded and in tears. Known as the first female crime officer for the Hanover Division and first female Deputy Superintendent in charge of crime in Area 1- held since 2015, Watson continues to make notable strives with the Jamaica Constabulary Forc
