I work all over Jamaica as I am an administrative assistant for a marketing executive. Sometimes when I go to country areas or dirt tracks for events like car racing my sinuses would go crazy. I would experience headaches, dizziness, nosebleeds, stuffiness and I think I even catch a cold. I seriously can’t afford to keep filling prescriptions. I would really rather some natural remedies, please help!

Advice
Raaaaa!!!!! Race car and all deez tingz! Alright Putus guess what, due to your environs you may suffer from chronic sinus inflammation.
Dust and other allergens in the air are your major pests. Rural areas are prone to pollens and you said it, DIRT at the race track will trigger nasal congestion, pressure and pain in the sinuses.

RELIEVE CONGESTION BY:

  • Infusing some warm water in a thermos with Eucalyptus Oil and Peppermint Oil
  • Periodically smell the solution while you’re at the dirt track
  • Dampen a cloth with the solution and keep over nose and inhale
  • Eliminate dairy from your diet as this contributes to the buildup of mucous (the cold you’re experiencing)
  • Peanuts (though so delicious) may also trigger allergies
  • Drink a cup of warm peppermint tea, this thins mucous secretion. Also, do not rub and ‘draw up’ your nose as that may lead to your nosebleeds.

RE-BUILD YOUR IMMUNE SYSTEM

  • Eat a peg of garlic before bed (not advised if you have low blood pressure)
  • Get loads of Vitamin C: oranges, cherries, guavas
  • Garlic and honey help to accommodate pollens in the environment
  • Goji Berries (find in health food stores)

REMEMBER!
We work to live, not live to work so if you don’t need to put yourself in stressful environments please stay away my darling and continue to #LiveWell!
